Comments: Extract from site about the book: "A complete and concise book on marquetry fills a long awaited need to students, hobbyists, furniture makers and furniture restorers. Written with beginners in mind, ten classic designs are included, with over 300 step-by-step coloured illustrations offered in the form of tutorials. Designs such as fans, shells, patera, compass rose, husk swags and modern floral work. Geometric parquetry including the chessboard, Louis Cube, basket weaves and the amazing chevron construction. Four furniture making projects include an 18th century oval gallery tray, a pier table mirrored to Thomas Chippendale's original, as well as a modern jewellery box and a delightful folding two-sided fire screen. Computer aided designs (CAD) accompany the furniture making projects."

Comments: Artist's Statement - "I do all of my work by hand, using no computer controlled machinery or lasers . I prefer to use only natural materials with natural colors, foregoing stains and dyes. I feel that the time and pains spent scouring the earth to find the perfect shade 'of the fleeting blue glint in her eyes' is required for the level of class I want my work to represent. The work I create for you will be one of a kind, never reproduced for someone else. With each piece created, bear in mind that I design it to be cherished for generations, incorporating the results of age and movement, gracing it with thick pieces of wood and ivory so that the life of my work will outlast me.
